My situation was looking very grim. I had just gotten out of lab, hadn't had anything to eat yet, didn't have any food at home, and had no money to buy anything. Very grim indeed.
Wandering around the inn, I was on the lookout for something to fill the void in my stomach. I was trying to imagine what a decorative plant would taste like when I came upon the second floor trash room. Inside, lying atop a heaping pile of trash was a rather mundane-looking pizza box. But what was waiting inside that box for me was anything but trash.
As I knocked the empty soda bottles off the pizza box and slowly lifted the lid, I could tell it wasn't empty. Suddenly things were looking up. Perhaps I wouldn't be reduced to eating hotel decorations after all.
A wave of joy swept over me as the pizza box presented its contents to me: there were not one, but
two thick, greasy slices of tasty pizza inside. I wasn't about to let them go to waste...
